Item #40: One Spot in 'Intro to Screenwriting' class
Join instructor Caitlin Durante (Bechdel Cast host, Master-degree-haver) for an online introductory screenwriting course! It's suitable for complete beginners, someone who needs a screenwriting refresher, someone who wants to be held accountable to write something, and everyone in between!
This eight-week class focuses on narrative feature-length film, and it covers crafting a story, structure, characterization, dialogue, theme, tone, screenplay format, and much, much more!
By the end of the course, students will finish the first draft of a treatment (a detailed synopsis) for an original feature-length screenplay. Treatments will be workshopped during class, and students will receive constructive feedback from their classmates and instructor.
Caitlin also offers Level 2, 3, and 4 courses, which are a continuation of 'Intro to Screenwriting' that encourage students to write and workshop the first draft of their feature-length screenplay, one act at a time.
