Dianne Bright

Dianne Bright obtained her BA in Spanish and her MA in Spanish American Literature. Bright is a regular contributor with Reader's Digest and their sister publication: The Healthy. She has written for a variety of other magazines and professional blogs as well, including Scholastic's Parent & Child and I Love Cats. She has enjoyed reviewing titles seasonally for a few publishers, including James Patterson's group.

Book one of her young adult fantasy duology is on query via her agent: Hope Bolinger with Cyle Young Literary Elite. Her novel is #ownvoices focusing on mental health issues. Bright's book of parenting reflections, titled MOMS KICK BUTT, is under contract and comes out later this year. Also, she recently outlined for a new middle grade series about #stem for girls and legends from the Maori tribe in the jungles of New Zealand.

In addition to being a full-time writer, she loves volunteering in her community and enjoys spending time with her family and two pets in southern California.

Struggling with mental health issues and an ear disability, Bright advocates for these groups in her writing and via charitable organizations. Her main message to writers is to never give up--also watching The Office helps. "If you fall into a black hole--make sure to bring your Starbucks tumbler and a few bags of Cheetos. You can always climb out and try again tomorrow!"
