Item #19: Plot Consultation
Rebecca is a logic/organizer type, which means she's excellent at helping others plan plots--and she loves to do it.
Save yourself a draft or three by using Rebecca to help you think through the big picture of your manuscript, be it a brand-new WIP or a story in need of revision.
The approach is loose enough for pantsers, providing direction without constriction, and structured enough for plotters, ensuring the focus remains on the key elements. A little pre-planning saves you time, pages, and heartache.
Rebecca Petruck is the author of the middle grade novels BOY BITES BUG and STEERING TOWARD NORMAL, both with Abrams. BUG received a starred review from Booklist, who said it’s "...funny, perceptive, and topical in more ways than one." It is on the Louisiana Young Readers Choice awards list for 2020-2021. STEERING was an American Booksellers Association New Voices selection and Kids Indie Next List title. Petruck has an MFA in Creative Writing from UNC Wilmington, and is a mentor for Pitch Wars and SCBWI Carolinas.
