About the Auction...
Thank you so much for your interest in the annual Writers for Hope Online Auction!
This event began in 2014 and is held every April in honor of Sexual Assault Awareness Month. Each year, members of the publishing & entertainment worlds - editors, agents, producers, and published and/or agented authors and screenwriters contribute their time and resources to raise money to support survivors of sexual violence. Donations include work critiques (ranging from queries to FULL manuscripts), consultation calls or Skype sessions, and signed books.
Your Writers For Hope Auctioneer:
Kelly Johnson is a community engagement professional, writer, fundraiser, public speaker, and sexual violence survivor. In 2012, she received from American University her MA in Public History, with a concentration in cultural history in the United States. She works in nonprofit development and communications.
As a life-long lover of the written word, Kelly is a strong believer that communities of artists can effect real change in the world. And she is endlessly honored by the donors and bidders who make Writers for Hope a success every year.
